Rabbi Raphael Afilalo's research and publications have predominantly been in the area of Jewish mysticism and Kabbalah. Most of his books on the Kabbalah in English and French, have letters of approbation of important rabbinical authorities as the Rishon Letsion, and others.

He has been lecturing and giving conferences on the subject of Kabbalah, in English and French in Canada, United States, Israel and Europe.
Realizing the need to explain and clarify Zohar and Kabbalah terms and concepts, he has published a “Kabbalah Dictionary” and a “Kabbalah Glossary” which translate and explain more than 700 terms and concepts of the Kabbalah.
His latest books are:
“160 Questions on the Kabbalah” where he answers the most frequently asked questions during the lectures given in North America and Europe.
And "Kabbalah Concepts" where all the main basic and advanced concepts of the Kabbalah are explained in a clear and concise language.

His main objectives are to provide a genuine picture of the true Kabbalah, show the inner dimension and beauty of Jewish mysticism, and make these often complex notions clearly understandable to the reader.
